BIP503― Expository Preaching

Required for MDiv― 4 credits. Prerequisite BI502― Biblical Interpretation Lab.

For pastors, Sunday morning preaching is the pinnacle of each week’s ministry. Nothing is more visible. It’s how the congregation gets to know the pastor; and more importantly, it’s a fleeting opportunity to change lives.

This course covers the basic hermeneutical and homiletical principals involved in preparing and delivering sermons, as well as exploring practical and wise strategies for any ministry speaker- whether novice or seasoned.

The majority of the course guides students in the basics of preparation, organization, and delivery of twenty-first-century expository preaching as biblical texts serve as starting points, even for topical preaching.
